You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore. You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days. Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.But let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another, but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow. Kahlil Gibran
About This Quote

The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. When you are born, you are born into your family and that family is what makes up your world. You will grow up and marry, have children and so on. This is the life that you were born into, this is what you know.

But, there is something else to life than this life on earth called mortality. This life of mortality ends at some point, even if it doesn't seem like it at first. You die.

That's the end of mortality for many people. But, death isn't the end. It's a place where we can go from to continue our lives with out this world of mortality.

In the world after death, we continue to live but not as mortals. We begin our lives as spirits and continue to live as spirits. The end of mortality means that we can see all that we have gone through and learn from it and move forward into a new life that better reflects who we are as a person now that we have a chance to really know ourselves after having been through all that we went through in this life of mortality here on earth.
